Information for Parents
We understand that you as a parent, guardian, or carer you will have many questions about your loved ones’ stay with us at Project Student.
This page gives you information on the questions we commonly get asked.
- How do we reserve a room?
-
You can discover everything you need to know about the process for renting a room with Project Student in the UK at our Rent a Room information page.
- What are the legal terms and conditions?
-
You can discover everything you need to know about the legal responsibilities of renting a room with Project Student in the UK at our Rent a Room information page.
- What is the move-in process?
-
We will send out a series of welcome communications to our incoming student residents prior to their move in date so that they will have plenty of time to prepare for the move. This includes welcome emails and our Welcome Handbook, which provide comprehensive information about the move-in day, the residence, and the community in detail.
IS THERE SOMEWHERE TO PARK WHEN WE ARE UNPACKING?
If you are travelling with your loved one on move in day, we will inform you in advance whether there’s a drop off bay at the residence for you to unload their belongings. If there isn’t a drop-off bay available, we will send you the location of the nearest car park.
It’s important that a move in slot is reserved with us in advance so that we can make sure there are people available to help direct you on the day. Look out for our communications about this in the weeks prior to the move-in date.
WHAT IF WE ARE ARRIVING OUT OF HOURS?
We understand that sometimes students will need to arrive outside of arrival hours. We ask for the student to contact us at the earliest possible opportunity with their planned arrival time so we can provide all the necessary information and ensure that we have everything ready for their smooth arrival.
Please note that we need to prepare access and ensure that we have received all relevant documentation, deposit and first instalment of rent before it is possible to move in. If we do not know when you are arriving, or have the necessary documentation and payment in place, we cannot guarantee a smooth and hassle-free out of hours move-in experience.
- Is there any specific information for international students?
-
We’re proud that many international students choose Project Student and we have over six-years of experience in supporting students as they transition into and through their university career in the UK.
Our dedicated International Students page provides information specific to international students including details of visas, rental guarantors, and UK bank accounts.
